Changing Your Apple Watch Band: Simple Steps for a Fresh Look

The Apple Watch was released in 2015 and quickly became the most desirable watch choice for many people. It’s no longer just about checking time – it’s your fitness coach, message center, music player, and it stays synced with your iPhone all the time. In addition to that, you can find a lot of accessories for your Apple Watch which will make it more personal.

Why You May Need to Remove the Apple Watch Band:

  • To change it for a new one
  • To clean it properly without damaging the watch
  • To change the strap for a bigger size

How to Change the Apple Watch Band?

Here is all you need to know about how to change the Apple Watch band in a few easy steps.

    1. Put your Apple Watch face-down onto something soft, like a microfiber cloth.
    2. On the back of the watch, you’ll see two small buttons - one at the top and the other one below.
    3. To take off the strap, press the upper button and then slide the strap out from the slot.
    4. Repeat this process with another bottom so that the band comes off completely.

How to Take Off a Link Bracelet?

Have a fancy link bracelet? Here’s an easy step-by-step guide::

      • Snap the butterfly closure by folding it until it clicks.
      • Press the quick-release button inside the bracelet (pick any side).
      • Hold down this button while gently pulling the links apart.
      • You need to separate the bracelet into two parts before you take it off from the watch.
      • Finally, follow the previous instructions on how to remove the Apple Watch band.

Changing to a new band? Follow these instructions:

        • Place your Apple Watch face down on a soft surface.
        • Make sure the text on the back of the new band is facing you.
        • Slide either end of the new strap into the gaps.
        • Press the button on the watch and continue pushing until the straps click into position.

          An Important Note

Always make sure the band sits tightly and doesn’t slide from the slot. After putting the strap back on the watch, slide it to the right and left to check if it’s secure. If it slides off easily, try to put it back again until you hear or feel the click.
